History

In 1972 surfer group from USA expedition came to plengkung with 8 team, 3 team came on boat rest of team through land ways. Land ways team arrived in Grajagan village walk till 20 Km to Plengkung, boat team arrived in Plengkung through sea way A moment came they built a tend to observation a surf place for 10 days.

Description

Wave in this beach constant and big, came from effect antartica current flow to hindia ocean with bay’s angle came perfect wave. Height of wave 4 – 8 meters and length 2 Km came with 7 wave formation and need to know offshore wind came in came April until September.

Description

Found at time japan reign they build watch bunker at capil hill west side beach, Even name Rajegwesi came from defense power japan army at that time the name taken from javanese language. Rajeg mean stake while wesi is iron and if we unite meaning is iron pile for truth is pile plugged in Rajegwesi bay made from teak wood had power same as iron with formation bershaf make front and rear covered

History reign japan had dissapear from this beach, even beach have severe damage from tsunami on 3 june 1994. And now with tourist came to beach make government build access road and structure for serve to tourist

Activity

Many tourist visit this beach for swim even snorkeling, cause not many beach can use for swim reasoned is had huge tide, in this beach had high coral shaped like giant wall.

Camp activity in this beach really had excited for tourist, serve panorama see like sunset or sunrise.

Description

This beach known for small green hill with red sands located near shore, for hill can be visit only with walk when low tide.  At 1990 pulau merah beach area wipe by tsunami and cause severe damage, in latest 2012 banyuwangi government rehabilate access and develop this beach area. For the name pulau merah refer to small green hill at shore had height 200 meters, that hill have sand in red colors and covered it with green plant so can't see true colors it.

Surfing

Tide pulau merah area challangging and become ideal place for sport surfer, wave in this beach height range 3-5 meters fit for surfer loved. Information came from local people, tourist came from france, germant, and australia

Snorkeling

Maybe not like karimun jawa or the other snorkeling beach, this beach serve tour in under sea with beautiful view. Visitor want to feel experience snorkeling in pulau merah beach can rent tools near beach, and can see ecosistem under sea.

in colonial time ago beach boom, use for important port dutch in colonial time. Important building like supply warehouse still stand. Economic activity crowd for fish auction isn't use anymore.  Fisherman activity not as crowded as before.

Since the end 2012 in this beach held event parade “Gandrung Sewu”, namely thousands dancer gandrung dance above boom beach sand. This event agenda held annually. Apart performances “Gandrung Sewu”, Boom Beach choosen for music jazz performances theme “Banyuwangi Beach Jazz Festival” in 2013. 

Since 2014 Banyuwangi government determine for elevating potential boom beach, become one of  destination main tourism in banyuwangi. Consideration cause from survey, boom beach had high visitor from domestic people banyuwangi. Boom Beach will be renovation and development become cleaner, cozy, and beautiful beach with purpose characterize “Osing”. 

Boom Beach located in east side city of Banyuwangi. The distance from the city center only 2 Km, so that is called beach of town.
